Vault Doors sold online are constructed with inexpensive drywall or ceramic, and most have flat doors that only seal on one level. Real vault doors are not manufactured this way. Sportsman's Vaults have Step-System Doors, 6000 Degree Concrete Fireproofing & 3/4" Pry-Resistant Frames. We offer these options for FREE to our valued customers.
VAULT DOOR LEVEL 1 : ARMORY VAULT DOOR
Sportsman Steel Safes has been a leading manufacturer of vault doors and security products for over 40 years. Our highly celebrated, entry level vault door is called the Armory Series. It's by far, the strongest, most fire-resistant, entry-level vault door in our industry. Where almost all vault doors have drywall for fireproofing with a single steel construction, our Armory vault has high-temp concrete fireproofing and double steel (3/16" and 16 gauge). It's 100% made in the USA and has never been broken into EVER. Because the Armory vault door has a 1/2" steel anti-pry frame and a 3/16" thick steel chest plate, prying or cutting into this vault is nearly impossibility. It comes with a S & G combination lock, single expandable gaskets and 1/4" hard plate. Its fire level is an excellent - 90 minute fire-resistance at 1200+ degree. It's DOJ compliant with massive, super thick barrel relockers (1" x 5" of solid steel). If a burglar attempts to drill out the lock, our spring-loaded relockers will shoot into the main locking bar and lock up your vault door. It must be one heck of a vault door, because we're never had an Armory vault door drilled open, pried open or cut open or lost to a fire in over 40 years.
Because the Armory vault is 100% made in America, it's built better, with improve workmanship and components that vaults built outside of the USA simple don't have. For example, U.S. manufactured expandable gaskets expand more. U.S. locks are more reliable, and U.S. made concrete fireproofing is more reflective and heat resistant. Our company is very proud to offer you a U.S. made vault door at a very fair price so you can say. Now you can say with confidence... "My vault is 100% made in America!" Now, let's get into the weeds and explain exactly why this vault is superior to other vault doors out there.
1) Affordability. Clients who buy Armory vault doors love that this vault doesn't break the bank. But don't think its low price means it isn't high quality. It's stopped every burglary attack it's ever been faced with. It's double steel construction and 1/2" anti-pry frames will not only stop "smash and grab" burglars", but crooks with tools as well. As far as stopping drill attacks, this vault has a 1/4" thick - 60 Rockwell steel hard-plate. Because of its hardness, this vault will stop almost all drill-out attempts. NOTE: Hard plate is super hard steel that is heat-treated to stop mild drills. If a thief attempts to compromise this vault with a regular drill, penetrating it in anyway is highly unlikely, near impossible. Even if a thief tries to drill our Armory vault door with a carbide-tipped drill, one that can penetrate regular steel, it will take them very long to get though. The Reason: there's double 3/16" steel (the chest-plate and front steel plate) in front of the 1/4" hard plate. That means a crook would have to drill though 3/4" solid steel to get the lock to punch it out. But don't worry. Even if he did remove the lock, that's when our relockers would fire and lockup your door. Our relockers are spring-loaded and made of 1" x 5" solid steel. Once they fire, our 14 locking bolt cannot be retracted. If that unliked incident were to happen, just call us at 800-266-7150 and we'll arrange for a safe smith to come to your house or business and open your vault. With a little help from us and a "probiscope sheet" taped to the front of your vault, we will assist them in opening and repairing your vault door.
2) Best Entry-Level Vault Door. Unlike our competitor's entry-level vault doors, our Armory vault has double steel with a 3/16" steel chest-plate that takes up the center part of the vault. Because there is double steel construction, breaking into this vault is extremely difficult. Even if a thief had a cutting device like a torch or Sawzall, the double steel construction makes penetrating our vault very unlikely. Just a heads up, most thieves who attempt to break into vaults don't bring cutting devices to burglaries. They usually don't even know you have a vault door. When they do break into your house, if they locate your vault, they will usually just use tools you have in your garage to shed to try to break into your vault. If you don't have heavy-duty cutting devices lying around your house, you're probably not getting your vault broken into that day. If you do have cutting or drilling equipment, hid them or lock them in a safe.
3) 1/2" Anti-Pry Frames. Our anti-pry frames are the real deal. The Armory Series Vault has a 1/2" steel anti-pry frame. Because the frame is super thick, it's never been pried open in our company's history. When competitor's vault doors get pried open, which is a huge problem, it's because the steel frames are too thin. If you go on google and research "prying videos on gun safes and vault doors", you will find video that show vaults getting pried open in 2 minutes. In those videos, you will notice the vaults have very thin frames. If your vault has 14 bolts with a thin 1/8" thick frame, you have a weak lock-up. That's because a thin 1/8" thick frame will "bend" during a tough pry-in attacks. But that doesn't happen on a thick 1/2" steel frame. Bending or flexing in pry-in attacks isn't a real possibility. In my opinion, a thick frame if the most important part of a vault door's construction. And try to steer clear of frames that appear thick but are actually hollow tubing. Solid steel frames are the way to go! Call us - because we're true vault pro's, we'll help you choose the frame that best suits you.
4) Sargent and Greenleaf Lock. Here's a test. What is the most likely component to stop working on your vault door? If you guessed "the lock", ding, ding, you got it right! That's why you don't want a cheap overseas lock. Those locks are notorious for breaking down in the first fifteen years of owning your vault door. And once your lock brakes, you will not be happy. In most cases, the door will have to be drilled open, which will leave you with a $600 repair bill and holes in your vault that shows a thief exactly where to drill to break in your vault. When we build our first Armory Vault Door, our owner said, "If something happens to me, never put cheap overseas lock on our vaults!! Spend top dollar for USA locks so our customers have the best." Over forty years later, he was right. Not only do our locks almost never breakdown, but we give you a lifetime warranty. The lock we use is the famous U.S. made Sargent & Greenleaf Spy-Proof rotary combo lock. The company is over 200 years old and is famous for having the most reliable locks. This combo lock opens with a three number combo and comes with a key insert in case you want to lock the dial to stop people from attempting to guess your combo. If you choose to upgrade your vault door to our US made Digital Lock, you're in good hands. This lock isn't a cheap overseas lock. It's a high-end non-motor driven digital that comes with a life warranty. The main reason this lock is our #1 selling option is because it allows you to open your vault in one second. Plus, when you shut the internal release handle of your vault, it will auto-lock the vault on the outside, making your vault an excellent panic room door! As our clients get older, they tell us they love their digital locks because dial locks take thirty to forty seconds to open. And if you dial the wrong number, you have to do it again. What a pain! Buying our La Gard U.S. made commercial Digital Lock will be the best money you spend.
5) Zerk Hinges. As of 2018, all Armory vault doors come with upgraded "zerk hinges". These aerospace-type hinges allow clients to inject grease into their hinges to get your vault swinging nicely. Greasing your vault's hinges will allow your door to continue swinging open with ease over your lifetime. Most low-price vaults don't have zerk fittings on their hinge. This makes greasing your hinges almost impossible. You'd have to remove your door from the hinge to grease it! Yes, you heard me right. You literally have to jack-up your heavy 1000lbs vault off its hinges and grease it manually. If you choose to hire a handyman or safe smith to do this, it could cost you $1000. That's 1/3 the cost your vault door. That's why clients love their zerk hinges. NOTE: Greasing our hinges is achieved by squirting lubricant into the fitting at the top of each hinge.
6) Concrete Fireproof Material. When clients call us to order their vaults, they tell us fireproofing is a major concern. That's why we put high-temperature concrete fireproof material in every Armory vault door. Most affordable vault doors in this industry only have drywall for fireproofing. And not much of it. As you can see in our videos on our website, our Jet-Board concrete fireproofing is about 3-4 x more fire resistant than drywall. And remember, our vaults doors have double steel construction. A 3/16" steel front-plate and a 16-gauge back steel back. Because steel is a conductor of heat, having two layers of steel makes our armory vault door more fire resistant than vaults with one layer of steel. And we don't use inexpensive overseas expandable gaskets. They don't expand well. We use the best: Polusal gaskets. They swell up to 7 x their size and seal up our Armory vault doors during fires. This combination of double steel, hi-temp concrete and Polusal expand gaskets makes this vault door one of the most fireproof entry level vaults in the USA. You can add extra layers of concrete fire material to our vaults for a nominal fee. Call us and ask your salesmen for a price.

Sportsman's Crown vault door might be the most famous vault in our industry. It was the first vault in the "affordable vault door industry" to have a 2" step system with concrete. If you're saying to yourself "Wait, don't bank vault have step doors, you'd be right! When you shut the Crown's puzzle-like door, it will shut into a 3/4" step frame. This is why it seals on five points during a fire, making it one of the best sealing doors around. But there much more to a Crown vault that just it's cool name and fire rating. Let's do a deep dive and explain why this badass vault is our #1 selling vault door every year."
1) It's Made in the USA. From a flat plate of steel all the way through its manufacturing, our Crown Vault is MADE IN THE USA. Not only is it made in the states, but so are the locks, hard-plate, gaskets and concrete fire insulation. The reason we make our vaults domestically is because the components perform better in attempted break-ins and fires. If you buy a vault door online that is overseas there is very little quality control. Once it's shipped here, there's not a lot you can do to correct problems like door alignment or faulty construction. By building our Crown Vault Doors in the US, we get to watch this door like a hawk while it's getting manufactured. From the seals to the step door alignment to the locks and gaskets, it it's not right, it gets sent back to the welders to perfect. We want all our clients to say with pride -- "My vault is flawless. Built right here in the USA!!!"
2) 2" Step Door. Our step door is hands down the best sealing vault door around. You might ask yourself, "Step doors are the way bank vaults are built. They clearly have the best seals. Why aren't all vault doors built this way?" The Answer: Because it takes too long and it's expensive. Wanting to make as much money as possible, most vault companies turn and burn their vaults, making them as fast as possible. Because of this, the quality suffers. We're not interested in that. Our Crown series vaults aren't built on an assembly line. Each vault is manufactured by a single welder-fitter who makes it by hand. He hoists your 2" step door into its 3/4" steel frame and welds it in place, making it fit together like a puzzle. This is crucial for your seal. During a fire, when our double gaskets expand to 7 x their size, your door will seal on 4-points, not one like other vaults. Remember, you don't have to take our word that step doors are the best fire doors. Just look at the best vault doors in the world. They all have steps in them. NOTE: our Crown vault is our least expensive step door.
3) 3/4" Anti-Pry Steel Frame. Remember, it doesn't matter how many bolts you have in your door when it comes to security. What's important is the thickness and pry-ability of YOUR FRAME. That's why Crown Vault Doors are equipped 18 bolts and an indestructible 3/4" steel frame. When it comes to security, the most important feature is the frame. It's literally what keeps the door from being pried open. Fun fact: if you have 100 bolts in your vault, but have a paper-thin steel frame, the door can be opened open by a teen with very little muscle mass. The frame would simply bend with the slightest pressure. When you see pry-in tests online, you'll notice it's not the 1" bolt that bends. It's the thin frame that bends, which allows your vault to be compromised. A thick frame with long welds longer makes for a great blast frame too. If a thief were to drive a forklift at your vault, a heavy-duty frame will prevent intruders from caving in your vault. Any way you slice it, thicker frames make for a stronger lock-up. If you're interested in a blast door, the Crown vault can be ordered with a 3/4" steel frame that runs across the bottom threshold of your vault door. This will support your vault during blast or force attacks. Call us and we'll go over all the options you can order on your Crown vault. 800-266-7150
4) Multiple Steel Construction. The Crown vault has a 4-gauge front plate of steel and a 16-gauge steel back. But more importantly, it also has a 1/4" steel chest plate in the center part of your vault. This extra steel takes up the majority of the center part of your vault, the space we call the "vital cut area". It's the area thieves drill and cut into during attacks. With that are constructed with double steel, almost 1/2" thick, penetrating your vault is very hard. So hard it's never been accomplished in our company's history. There is also 1/2" hard plate in front of your lock and relocker. The hardness Rockwell rating is 60, which means a normal drill can't penetrate it effectively. Let's do some math. Since the front plate of steel and chest-plate are about 1/2" thick, when you add the 1/2" hard-plate, that means a drill has to go through almost an inch of steel to get to the lock box and relocker. Having multiple layers of steel adds to a vault's ballistic level too. We don't like to estimate how ballistic resistant vault doors are, but a two-layer steel Crown vault with concrete is more bullet-resistant than single steel vaults with no concrete core. Getting a Crown vault door is your classic 3-for-1. It's a security door, a fire door and a mild ballistic door.
5) Sargent and Greenleaf Locks - The Crown Vaults come with American made S & G Spy-Proof - Group II combo lock. It's the most reliable spin-dial lock in our industry. You can upgrade your lock to a US Made LA Gard commercial grade Digital Lock for $295. It has two batteries and a lifetime warranty. This lock is our #1 selling option because it opens your vault in one second. And when you shut the internal release handle, it will auto-lock the door on the outside like a real panic room door. Clients love digital locks because they open in one second. Spin-dial locks take 30-50 seconds to open.
6) Double Barrel Relockers - The vault door's relocker is the device that locks up if a crook drills or cuts out your lock. What's super cool about the Crown vault is it comes with two relockers! And they're massive - 1" x 5" of solid steel. If the lock is drilled out, the spring-loaded relockers shoot into your locking system, locking the door. What's even more extraordinary is the relocker's thickness! They're so thick that even if a crook located them and drilled them out, the 3/8" drill would only put a hole in the relocker and not defeat it. And don't forget, THERE'S TWO. Even if a thief successfully drilled out onr relocker, he still has to find the second one and drill out that one too. With only two hands, tricking all these safeguards is a near impossibility.
7) 18 Bolt System. Having 18 reinforced bolts fitted behind a solid 3/4" steel frame makes for one of the best lockups ever. Again, some vault door companies sell vaults with 10 bolts and thin 12-gauge frames that are dangerously weak. Sportsman 18-bolt system is solid, reliable and has never been compromised.
8) Internal Release Handle - Aka "The Panic Room handle" - All Crown vault doors come with an internal release handle. But not just any internal release. One with a spring-load. That means if you order a digital lock, when you shut the handle on the inside, the door will auto-lock on the outside, making it a true panic handle. Other vault doors have plastic switches or knobs that you have to remember to turn or flip to lock your vault from the inside. Our internal release is automatic. You just shut your door and let go of the internal handle and it will automatically lock on the outside. Getting out is even easier. You simply pull up the internal handle, retract the bolts and exit your vault.
9) Installing your vault door. It's easy. Build your vault opening 3/8" taller and wider than the vault you order from us. For example, if you want our 80 x 42 x 8 vault door, build your opening 80 3/8" x 42 3/8" x 8. When your vault door is delivered, move it in front of your opening with a pallet-jack, stand it up with five men and wiggle it into your opening. Once it's in the opening, put a level on your vault. Mark the 10 holes on the frame right onto your concrete wall. Then drill 10 - 1/2" lag-bolt sleeves into your concrete. Once those sleeves are drilled in, wiggle your vault's frame holes over the lag-bolt sleeves and bolt your vault to your concrete wall. After that, use eight tubes of fire caulking and caulk the area between your vault's frame and your concrete wall. This will seal your vault in case you have a fire. This installation will take two hours. If you don't want to install your vault, a handyman or licensed contractor should be able to accomplish the installation. If you need a local installer, call Sportsman Steel Safe's customer service line and we will refer you to a local contractor.
10) Vault Door Options - There's not many extra options you can get on the Crown vault because it has most of them standard. It comes in almost any semi-gloss color, gold or silver plating and a 2" step fire door. You can add a Digital lock - $275. Super gloss paint - $695. 1/2" Steel Plate - $795. Dual Redundancy EMP locks - $695. Tactical Storage Doors (23" x 80) - $295. In-Swing Door - $595. 1/2" AR-500 Ballistic Steel - $1995-3995, Custom Wood panel door - $1295. Custom Logos - $225. When you order your Crown vault door, ask your salesperson to tell you about the weapon accessories you can add to your door. We can put up to 50 weapons on a single door. Vertical Weapon holders - $55. Horizontal Rifle Holders - $45. 11 pistol holder box - $95. Call us and we'll give you a quote to outfit your door with a tactical panel and as many secure-it weapon accessories you want. 800-266-7150.
11) Other Vault Door Info. There are several special things worth mentioning about the Crown vault door. Of course, the step door is exceptional for fire ratings, but it's twin seals are great for keeping your vault at a constant temperature too. If you run an air-conditioner in your vault, the double seals will keep that room cooler, longer. If your vault is outside and you're running a heater, your multi-sealing door will keep your vault warmer, longer, saving you a fortune on your electrical bill. Your step door is also more water-resistant. During a fire, when firemen are dousing your vault with water, our expand gaskets will keep out excessive water, thus reducing water damage. Step doors are also fantastic if you plan to use your vault as a wine cellar. Step frames can have a refrigeration seal added to them to lock in moisture and cold air. If you're interested in ordering a Nuclear-Biological-Chemical vault door, also known as a "Nuke Door", you'll need our crown vault because it has steps for additional sealing points. But you'll also have to order an air filtration system and continuous welds on our door with NBC Seals, so your door will stand up to potential nuclear fallout. Now, let's talk about ballistic ratings. Because the standard Crown vault has double steel and concrete, you can increase your bullet-resistance by adding a third layer of 1/4" steel inside your door. Tell your salesmen what ballistic level you're trying to achieve, and we'll give you a quote. If you want your vault door to adsorb a blast from C-4, you can add a triple steel tank-head front that is filled with concrete. This costs about $2500 -3500 and increases the weight of your door by triple.
12) Lifetime Warranty. This warranty is easy to explain. If anything breaks, we repair it. If we decide the vault door can't be fixed in the field, we will return it to our company and repair it. That goes for the vault, lock, gaskets, hinges, bolt system, everything! And if our vault door goes through a fire, we'll replace the vault for free. You just need to provide a receipt and pay for the shipping. For an extra $50-100, you can purchase an attempted break-in warranty, which states if a crook destroys your vault during an attack, we'll repair it for free. If you have question about your vault door warranty, call us and we'll explain - 800-266-7150.
MOST ASKED QUESTION ABOUT OUR CROWN VAULT DOORS
Question: "What monetary value of weapons and collectibles should a Crown vault door secure?
Answer: "Anywhere from $50,000 to $200,000. But there's more to consider than just the value of your contents. Keeping your weapons safe and off the streets is more important than anything. The Crown vault is only $600-700 more than our entry level vault. I think the Crown series is the best bang for the buck. Consider it over the armory vault door.
Question: What can I do on my end to improve the fire rating of my Crown vault door?
Answer: Because the Crown already has concrete fireproofing and is a multi-point sealing door, it's pretty good w/ regards to fire protection. To make your fire rating over the top, make sure to add fire calking to the area between your frame and concrete wall. That will help fire rating.
Question: Is my Crown vault door resistant to hurricanes and tornados?
Answer: Oh yeah. A typical storm door is usually constructed with 3/16" steel, three deadbolts and a 1/4" frame. The Crown vault door has double steel, 18 - 1" thick locking bolts and a 3/4" anti-pry steel frame. It's very storm resistant.
This concludes our section on the Crown Series vault door. If you have questions about this vault, want to buy one or are curious about how we install them, call us at 800-266-7150. We'd love to help you.

The Phantom vault is our #1 selling commercial grade vault door. It's U.S. made, commercial grade vault and very affordable when compared to other commercial vaults on the market. It's our pride and joy. It's equipped with a 1/2" front steel plate, 18 bolts, 4-barrel relockers, double concrete fire insulation and a 1/2" steel chest-plate that will withstand aggressive cutting torches, Sawzall attacks and violent drill-outs. The list of government agencies that have this vault is long and accomplished. Weighing in at 1600lbs, the Phantom vault is our salesmen's favorite vault to sell, because it's significantly less money than our competitor's vaults and it doesn't break the bank. With all the extra steel, this vault would take over an hour to penetrate, even if safe cracks knew where to attack. The additional 1" hard plate in front of the lock and main relocker adds significant time to its drill rating. It's one of the reasons no Phantom vault has been broken into in the company's history. Below are all the features that come standard. Check them out and call us for more information. NOTE: All Sportsman Steel Vault doors are custom made in the United States. For additional vault info, call us at 800-266-7150. "
1) It's Made in the U.S. The doors, frames, locks, hard-plate, gaskets and yes, the concrete fire insulation are all made in the U.S. The reason: U.S. components perform better than overseas products, especially the locks and gaskets. If you buy an overseas vault online there is less quality control. Once the vault ships to America, there's not a lot you can do to correct problems like door alignment or faulty construction. We build our Phantom vault doors in the USA so we can watch this vault like a hawk while it's getting manufactured. This allows us to make sure everything is performance correctly: the seals, step doors, locks, gaskets, everything. If it's not right, we send it back to our welder/fitters to perfect. Our clients love saying, "My vaults American!""
2) 2" Step Door. Our vault doors are built COMPLETELY different from our competitors. Most vault doors in this industry are flat, just like a gun safe door, with only one sealing point. Not ours. Ours are built like bank vaults with STEPS in the door, making them the best sealing vaults around. During a fire, our gaskets expand to 7-8 x their size and seal up the door on four points. This is more than double the sealing points on a typical flat surface vault door. You might ask yourself "Step doors are clearly the best. Why aren't all vaults built this way?" Because it takes too long and it's expensive. But we can build them without charging you more, because there is no middleman in between us and our client. Also, phantom vault doors are not built on cookie-cutter assembly lines. Doors like that typically have large gaps in the door for hot air to come into during fires. Our vaults are built individually by a single welder/fitter who builds them by hand. He manufactures your step frame and hoists it into our 3/4" steel frame until it fits together like a perfect puzzle. Then the door and frame are welded, giving your lock-up the best fit possible. This is crucial for your seal. During a fire, when our gaskets expand, your door will seal up much better with this type of attention to detail. You don't have to take our word that step-system vault doors are better. That's why almost all super high-end bank vaults are built.
3) 3/4" Anti-Pry Steel Frame. Remember, it doesn't matter how many bolts you have in your door. What's important when it comes to the lock-up is the thickness and pry-ability of the frame. That's why Phantom vault doors are equipped with an indestructible 3/4" solid steel frames with 18 bolts. Again, when it comes to security, the most important feature is the frame. It's literally what keeps the door from being pried open. Fun fact: if you have 100 locking bolts in your vault with a thin steel frame, your vault can be pried open by a teenager. The frame would simply bend with the slightest pressure. When you see pry-in videos online, you'll notice it's not the 1" bolts that bends, allowing your vault to be compromised, it's the thin frame. Our frames are monstrous, 3/4" thick steel frame with long welds. It also makes for a great blast frame. If a thief were to drive a forklift at your vault, our heavy-duty frame would prevent them from caving in your door. Any way you slice it, a thicker frame makes for a stronger lock-up. If you're interested in adding to the blast-resistance of our Phantom vault, order an additional 3/4" steel frame across the bottom threshold. This will support your vault during force attacks. Our standard vaults have flat surface thresholds that are easy to walk over.
4) Double Expandable Gaskets. Can you believe adding a second expandable gasket could be the thing that saves your belongings in a fire? Most vault doors have one gasket with flat surface frames. They only seal on one point. When it comes to fire ratings, you want as many gaskets as possible. Two will expand and seal up your door on five points, making it the most airtight vault in the residential vault industry. We can add a third fire seal to your vault for a nominal fee. Contact your Sportsman Steel vault door salesperson and he will give you a price.
5) Multiple Steel Construction. The Phantom vaults has a 1/2" front steel plate and a 16-gauge steel back. More importantly, it has a 1/2" additional steel plate in the center part of the vault. This area is called "the chest-plate" or "vital cut area plate". It's the area thieves drill and cut into during violent attacks. With the center part of your phantom constructed with double 1/2" steel, penetrating your vault is VERY, VERY hard. So hard it's never been accomplished in our history. There is also 1/2" hard plate in front of your lock and main relocker. This steel has a "Rockwell hardness" rating of 60, which means a normal drill can't penetrate your vault effectively. Let's do a little math. Since if the front plate of steel is 1/2" and the chest-plate is 1/2" and the hard-plate is 1/2, that means a drill has to go through 1 1/2" of solid steel to get at the lock and relocker. Having multiple layers of steel also adds to a vault's ballistic level. We don't like to estimate how ballistic resistant vault doors are, but a vault with 1/2" and 16-gauge steel makes for one of the best bullet-resistant doors in our industry.
6) Sargent and Greenleaf Locks - Phantom Vaults come with American S & G Spy-Proof. They're Group II combo locks. It's the most reliable spin-dial lock in our industry. You can upgrade your lock to a US Made LA Gard commercial grade Digital Lock. Its non-motor driven, has two batteries and a lifetime warranty. This lock is our #1 selling option because it opens your vault in one second. But what's truly special about this lock is when you shut the internal release handle, it will auto-lock the door on the outside like a real panic room door. Clients love digital locks, because they open in one second, unlike spin-dial locks that take up to 45 seconds to open. You can also add an EMP kinetic energy digital lock to your vault. These locks don't use battery. They are excellent if you fear an EMP attack. Call one of our vault door salespeople and they will tell you about all your lock options.
7) 4-Barrel Relockers - This is the feature that locks up your vault if a crook punches out the lock in an attack. What's super cool about the Phantom vault is it has four - 1" thick x 5" long barrel relockers. If the lock is drilled out, four spring-loaded relockers will lock up your system. What's even more extraordinary is the thickness of these relockers. They're so thick that even if a crook locates the relocker, his drill will only put a hole in the middle of it and not defeat it. What's even more impressive is there are four! That means, even if a thief defeated one, he'd have three more to go!
8) 18 Bolt Locking System. Eighteen reinforced bolts fit behind a 3/4 "steel frame. That's one heck of a lockup. Other vault door companies have vaults with 10 bolts and SUPER THIN 12-gauge frames. Those frames are dangerously weak. Sportsman's bolt system is solid, reliable and has never been compromised ever.
9) Internal Release Handle - "The Panic Room handle - All our vault doors come with an internal release. But not just any internal release. One that is spring-loaded. That means if you order a digital lock, when you shut the handle on the inside, the door will auto-lock on the outside, like a real panic handle. Other vaults have plastic switches that you have to remember to turn and lock before you shut your vault. Our internal handles are automatic and give your family piece of mind knowing they can always open from the inside.
10) Installing your vault door. It's easy. Build your vault opening 3/8" taller and wider than the vault you order. For example, if you want our 80 x 42 x 8 vault door, build your opening 80 3/8" x 42 3/8" x 8. When your vault door is delivered, move it in front of your opening, stand it up with five men can move it into the opening. Once it's in the opening, put a level on your vault and mark the 10 holes on your frame onto your concrete wall. Then drill (10) - 1/2" lag-bolt sleeves into your concrete. Once those sleeves are drilled, wiggle your frame's holes over the lag-bolt sleeves and bolt your vault to your concrete wall. After that, fire caulk the area in between your vault's frame and your concrete wall. This will seal your vault in case of a fire. This installation will take two or three hours. If you don't want to install your vault, a handyman or licensed contractor should be able to accomplish the installation. If you need a local installer, call Sportsman Steel's customer service - we can refer you to a contractor.
11) Vault Door Options - Your Phantom Vault Door comes in almost any semi-gloss color with gold or silver plating. You can add a Digital lock - $275. Super gloss paint - $695-795. 1" Steel Plate - $1995-2495. Dual Redundancy EMP locks - $695. Tactical Storage Doors (23"x80) - $295. In-Swing Door - $595. 1/2" AR-500 Ballistic Steel - $2295-3995, Custom Wood panel doors - $1295. Custom Logos - $225. When you order your vault, ask your salesperson to tell you about the weapon accessories on your door. We can put up to 50 weapons on a single vault door. Vertical Weapons holders - $55. Horizontal Rifle Holders - $45. 11 pistol holder tactical boxes - $95. Call us and we'll give you a quote to outfit your door or vault walls with tactical panels.
12) Additional Vault Door Info. There are several special things about the Phantom vault door. Of course, it's step construction is exceptional for fire ratings, but it's twin seals have many dual purposes. Sure, it's great for fire resistances, but it's also fantastic at keeping your vault at constant temperatures. If you run an air-conditioner in your vault, the double seals will keep your room cooler, longer. If your vault is outside and you run a heater, your multi-sealing door will keep your vault warmer, longer, saving you a fortune in electricity. Your step door is also more water-resistant. During a fire, when firemen are dousing your vault with water, your expanded gaskets will keep out excess water, thus reducing water damage. Step doors are also fantastic if you use your vault as a wine cellar. The step frame can have a refrigeration seal added to lock in moisture and cold air. If you're interested in ordering a Nuclear-Biological-Chemical vault door, also known as a "Nuke Doors", you'll need to buy a vault with our step-door, because steps add to the sealing points. You'll also have to order an air-filtration system and continuous welds on our door with NBC Seals so your door will stand up to nuclear fallout. Also, because our Phantom vault have two layers of steel with a concrete core, they make for good ballistic doors. You can increase your bullet-resistance by adding a third layer of 1/4" steel. Tell us what ballistic level you're looking for and we will quote you. If you want your vault door to adsorb a c-4 blast, we can add a triple steel tank-head front that can be filled with 6" of concrete. ($2500-3500 more). This option will increase your vault's weight by triple, so be ready for that.
13) Lifetime Warranty. This warranty is easy to explain. If anything breaks, we will repair it. If we decide the vault door can't be fixed in the field, we will return it to our company and repair it. That goes for the vault, lock, gaskets, hinges, bolt system, everything! And if our vault goes through a fire, we'll replace the vault for free. You just need to provide a receipt and pay for the shipping. For an extra $50-100, you can purchase an attempted break-in warranty, which states if a crook destroys your vault door during an attack, we'll repair it for free. If you have question about your vault's warranty, call us and we'll explain - 800-266-7150.

NEWFEDERALIST SERIES
Best Vault Door in Commercial Industry - 1" Steel Door
Equipped with 1" steel plate & 2" chest plate, our Federalist not only protects against the most advanced burglary attempts, but it's also ballistic resistant. It's a bit more than our standard vault doors, but if you're leaving the U.S. for months at a time, the Federalist gives great piece of mind.
Welcome to our Federalist Vault Door section. This USA made commercial level vault door has blast, ballistic and heavy-duty security features. It's famous for absorbing a C-4 blast during an explosion test performed by the Central Vally Bomb squad. It's equipped with a 1" solid steel front plate, 1" hard-plate and a 1" additional steel chest plate in the center of the door. It also has 18 bolts, 4-barrel relockers, double concrete fire insulation and a 3/4" anti-pry frame. This vault was designed to protect your belongings during multi-hour attacks involving cutting torches, explosives, Sawzalls and carbide-tipped drills. It's known at our company as "The Embassy Vault", because an embassy in Central America choose this vault to protect its employees during civil unrest attacks. Weighing 2500-3200lbs, the Federalist vault is our highest quality, more fireproof, best ballistic grade vault door. It's a favorite amongst customers because for only $2500 more, they get a vault that does EVERYTHING. Remember, the center part of the vault has 2" of solid steel. And in the drill-area, there's 3" of solid steel. That means if a thief tries to torch this vault's vital-cut area, they have to cut through two or three inches of solid steel depending on the area they attack. And if they managed to get through that, they're confront with four massive spring-loaded relockers. Wow! That's the reason no Federalist vault door has been broken into in our history. To make sure the alignment of this heavy door stays true, the frame is equipped with 5 - 1" x 5" zerk hinges. Below are this vault door's standard features. Call us if you have questions. All Sportsman Vault doors are made in the U.S with lifetime warranties. If you have questons, call us at 800-266-7150. "
1) It's Made in the USA. The doors, frames, locks, hard-plate, gaskets and yes, the concrete fire insulation are all made in the U.S. The reason we use American-made components is because they perform better, especially the locks and gaskets. If you buy an overseas vault door online, there is less steel and less quality control. Once the vault is shipped to the U.S., there's not a lot you can do to correct problems like door alignment or faulty construction. That's why we build our Federalist vault in the U.S. Building them at our factory allows us to watch this vault like a hawk, making sure the seals, step doors, locks and gaskets are working tip top. If it's not, we send it back to manufacturing and get them perfected. We have a saying here - "If it's not good enough for a family member, don't ship it to a client!" Building our vault doors domestically was a philosophical decision. We like employing Americans and want our clients to say with pride -- "My vaults made in the States!""
2) 1" Steel Door & Step Door. Because this vault door has 1" solid steel plate, it buys you the one thing you'll need during an attempted break-in: time. Torching or cutting into a 1" plate door can take hours. And because the Federalist has our step door and added steel and concrete, it's very fire resistant - 2.5 hours. When you shut the door, the step fits into a female step frame, sealing your door like a media vault. These types of safes are designed to keep temps very low during fires. Step doors are crucial if you have heat sensitive documents you want to protect against fires. Don't let a salesman from another company tell you a step door isn't needed. If you want your vault to seal the best, it's 100% necessary. Clients often ask - "Why do I need a wildly secure vault like a Federalist?" Two reasons: it's the best and you only do this once. For only $3500 more, you get a vault door most thieves wouldn't dream on breaking into. If you need help, setting up an install, we can contact a contractor in your area to install it for you.
3) 1" Anti-Pry Steel Frame. This massive 1" x 3" solid steel frame is only available on our Federalist. Attempting to pry this door would be futile. And remember, it doesn't matter how many bolts you have in your door, it's the thickness and pry-ability of the frame that's important. Regardless, we equip this vault with an 18-bolt lock-up. We do manufacture this heavy-duty frame because it's the most important feature on your vault. It's literally what keeps the door from being pried open. Fun fact: if you have 100 locking bolts in your vault with a thin steel frame, your vault can be pried open by a teenager. If you've ever seen a video online showing an attempted "pry-job", you'll notice it's not the thick bolts that bend, it's the torqued thin frame that allows the vault door to be breached. This mega-thick frame also makes for a great blast frame. If a thief were to drive a forklift at a Federalist, this frame would be the most important line defense. I would put my money on the vault. For no additional cost, we can add this 1" thick steel to the bottom of your door just above your threshold. This will support your vault door during the most violent forceable entries. NOTE: our standard vault thresholds are flat 1/2" steel plates which makes them easy to walk over.
4)Double Expandable Gaskets. Adding a second expandable gasket could be what saves your belongings in a fire. Most vault doors have one gasket with a flat surface frame. These vaults only seal on one point. When it comes to fire ratings, you want as many gaskets as possible. Our two expand gaskets swell up to 8 x their size and seal your vault on five points, making it the most airtight vault in the residential vault door industry. Because our Federalist has a super thick door, we have the extra space to add a third or four expand gasket, making it even more hot-air resistant. We can also add Nuclear-Biological-Chemical seals or water-resistant seals to your frame. Having an extra thick door gives up the space you'll need to add all kinds of custom gaskets.
5) Multiple Steel Construction. Federalist vault doors have double steel - 1" plate with a 16-gauge steel back. More importantly, it has a 1" thick steel chest plate in the center part of the vault that shields your door's moving parts. This area is called the chest-plate or "vital cut area". It's the area thieves attempt to drill or cut during violent attacks. The 1" steel plate and 1" thick chest-plate means there's 2" of solid steel in your vital cut area. This makes penetrating your vault VERY, VERY hard. So difficult it's never been accomplished in our history. There's also 1" hard plate in front of your lock and main relocker. The plate's hardness rating is 60, which means a normal drill can't penetrate it. Let's do a little math. Since the front steel plate is 1" thick and the chest-plate is 1" thick and the hard-plate is 1" thick, that means a drill would have to go through 3" of solid steel to get at the lock. WOW! Having multiple layers of steel also adds to this vault's ballistic level. We don't like to estimate how ballistic resistant vault doors are, but a vault with 1" steel plate with a 16-gauge steel back makes for one of the most bullet-resistant vault doors around.
6) Standard Lock - The Sargent and Greenleaf - Group II Rotary Combo Lock comes standard on the Federalist. It's the most reliable spin-dial lock in our industry. You can upgrade your lock to a US Made LA Gard commercial grade Digital Lock. It's non-motor-driven, has two batteries and a lifetime warranty. This lock is our #1 selling option because it opens your vault in one second. And when you shut the internal release handle, it will auto-lock the door on the outside like a panic room door. Clients love digital locks, because spin-dial locks take too long to open. You can also add an EMP kinetic energy digital lock that uses no batteries. These locks are excellent if you fear an EMP attack. On Federalist vault door can have a Digital Dual lock added t it. This double lock has an over-rider feature that can open the vault if one of the locks fails. Call our vault door salespeople and they will tell you about all our lock options.
7) 4-Barrel Relockers - This special relocking device is next level. Where most vault doors only have one relocker, this vault has four. If a crook punches out your lock, 4 - 1" wide x 5" tall steel barrel relockers shoots into your bolt work, locking up your door. What's even more extraordinary is the thickness of these relockers. They're so thick that even if a crook locates them with a drill, the drill will only put a hole in the relocker and not defeat it. What's more impressive is there's four! That means a thief would have to locate and drill out all four. It's never happened in our company's history.
8)18-Locking Bolts. Each reinforced bolt is protected by a 1 "thick steel frame. That's one solid lockup. Again, other vault doors only have 10 bolts with a SUPER THIN FRAME - only 12-gauge (1/8") thick. Those frames are dangerously weak. Sportsman's 18-bolt system is solid, reliable and has never been compromised ever. If you choose to add more bolts, call us and we'll quote it. We build vault doors up to 100 bolts.
9) Internal Release Handle - "The Panic Room handle - All Federalist vaults come with an internal release that allows you to exit the vault anytime you want. If you order a digital lock, when you shut the handle on the inside, the door will auto-lock on the outside, like a real panic room handle. Other vault doors have "plastic switches" that you have to remember to turn and lock. Ours are spring-loaded. When you let go of the handle, the handle auto-locks. You will love its dependability. Especially if you're protecting your family in a burglary or civil unrest situation.
10) Installing your Federalist vault door. Because its heavier than most vault doors, you will need multiple workers to stand up your vault and wiggle into the opening. It's times like this a forklift would come in handy. First off, you will need to build your vault opening 3/8" taller and wider than the vault you order from us. For example, if you want our 80 x 42 x 8 vault door, build your opening 80 3/8" x 42 3/8" x 8. When your vault door is delivered, move it in front of your opening, stand it up and move it into your opening. Put a level on your vault and make sure it's level. Then mark the 10 holes that are on the frame onto your concrete walk-thru area. Drill (10) - 1/2" lag-bolt sleeves into your concrete where the marks are. Once those sleeves are drilled in, more your frame's holes over the lag-bolt sleeves and bolt your vault in place. After that, use fire caulking to caulk the area between your vault's frame and concrete wall. This will seal your vault in case of a fire. This installation will take three hours. If you don't want to install your vault, a handyman or licensed contractor can accomplish the installation. If you need help finding a local installer, call Sportsman Steel's customer service department and we can refer you to a local contractor.
11) Vault Door Options - Your Federalist comes in almost any semi-gloss color with gold or silver plating. You can add a Digital lock - $275. Super gloss paint - $695-895. Stainless Steel veneer - $2995-3995. Dual Redundancy EMP locks - $695. Tactical Storage Doors (23"x80) - $295. In-Swing Door - $595. 1" AR-500 Ballistic Steel - $4995-6995, Custom Wood panel doors - $1295. Custom Logos - $225. When you order your vault, ask us to tell you about the weapon accessories you can get on your door. We can put 50 + weapons on the inside of a vault door. Vertical Weapons holders - $55. Horizontal Rifle Holders - $45. 11 pistol holder - $95. Call us and we'll give you a quote to outfit your vault door or vault walls with tactical panels.
12) Extra Federalist Info. There are several special things worth mentioning about the Federalist. Of course, it's 1" thick steel makes extremely resistant to break-ins, bullets, torches and grinding machines. Its step system construction is exceptional for fire ratings and its twin seals are great at keeping your vault cool in a fire and temperature constant if you use it as a wine cellar. If you run an air-conditioner in your vault, the double seals keep your room cooler, longer. If your vault is outside and you run a heater, your multi-sealing door keeps your vault warmer, longer, saving you a fortune in electricity. Your step door is also more water-resistant. During a fire, when firemen are dousing your vault, your expanded gaskets will keep out excessive water, thus reducing water damage. Step doors are also fantastic if you use your vault door as a wine cellar door. The step frames can have a refrigeration seals added to lock in moisture and cold air. If you're interested in ordering a Nuclear-Biological-Chemical vault door, the Federalist is for you. If you want a Nuke door, remember, you'll have to order an air-filtration system, continuous welds on your frame and dual NBC Seals. As far as ballistic ratings go, the Federalist is our best. It has double steel and a concrete core which increases your bullet-resistance. If you want to increase that rating, we can add AR-500 ballistic steel or a third layer of 1/4" steel that is also bullet-resistant at a lower price. If you want your vault door to adsorb a c-4 blast, we can add a 1/2" inner steel plate or upgrade your vault do our Tank-head series that is filled with 6" of concrete. The tank-head costs about $1500 more than our Federalist. It's very affordable.
13) Lifetime Warranty. This warranty is easy to explain. If anything breaks, we repair it. If we decide the vault door can't be fixed in the field, we will return it to our company and repair it. That goes for the vault, lock, gaskets, hinges, bolt system, everything! And if our vault goes through a fire, we'll replace it for free. You just need to provide a receipt and pay for shipping. For an extra $50-100, you can purchase an attempted break-in warranty, which states if a crook destroys your vault door during an attack, we'll repair it for free. If you have questions about your vault door's warranty, call us and we'll explain - 800-266-7150.

Get ready to have your socks knocked off! The Tank-head is one monster of a vault door. It was designed to absorb the most violent attacks this world can throw at you. Constructed with four layers of steel, there's almost nothing that can penetrate this vault. The 6.5" thick front door is made with double 1/4" steel and "U-Shaped steel bumpers" that can absorb blasts. Once your vault is installed, the 6.5" steel chamber is filled with concrete. This not only protects against blasts, its' great for fire resistance and stopping forceable entries. Without the concrete, it weighs 1900-2500lbs. Once the concrete is poured into the vault's top, it doubles the weight. Many Vault Pros call this vault "the vault of all vaults!" And they're right! It was designed to do everything: stop blasts, ballistic attacks and heavy-duty breach assaults. It was also designed to absorb C-4 blasts and gunfire from the most destructive weapons. Equipped with four layers of steel, 1" hard-plate and a 1" anti-pry steel frame, this vault's purpose in life is stopping torches, explosives and carbide-tipped drills. It has 18 bolts, 4-barrel relockers and an additional 1/2" steel chest-plate. Its fire level is 2 + hours. One of the most important US federal agencies owns one. Needless to say, no Tank-Head has ever been broken into. To make sure the alignment of this heavy door stays true, the frame is equipped with 6 heavy-duty zerk hinges. Below are the standard features on a tank-head. Call us if you have questions. All Sportsman Steel Vault doors have lifetime warranties and are made in the USA. "
1) It's Made in the USA. The doors, frames, locks, hard-plate, gaskets are all U.S. Made. The reason we use American-made component is because they perform better, especially the locks and gaskets. If you buy an overseas vault, there is less steel and quality control. Once the vault is shipped to the U.S., there's not a lot you can do to correct problems like door alignment and faulty construction. That's why we build our Tank-head vault doors here in the U.S. This allows us to watch them like hawks, making sure the seals, step doors, locks and gaskets all work tiptop. If something is off, our Quality Control team sends it back to manufacturing to correct the issue. We have a saying at our company - "If it's not good enough for a family member, don't ship it!" Building our vaults in the USA was a philosophical decision. We like employing Americans and want our clients to say with pride -- "My vault's an American just like me!""
2) Double 1/4" Steel Front. That's a lot of steel to wrap your mind around. Just think, we take 2 layers of 1/4" steel and weld in a third U-shaped piece of steel inside the door. Then we add 6" of concrete!!! That's one heck of a door. In our humble opinion, the Tank-Head and Federalist vault doors are the only vaults in our industry that buy you time with a professional attack. Cutting into this double steel - 7" thick concrete door can take up to three hours to achieve. And let's not forget how fire resistant it is - 3 + hours! When you shut the door, it fits into a step frame, sealing your vault like a high-end media vault. It's designed to keep temps low during fires so heat-sensitive documents will survive. Salesmen at other vault companies tell clients they don't need a vault door of this caliber. But if you want the best sealing, most fire resistant, most torch-resistant vault in our industry, you'll spend the extra $3500 and get a Tank-Head. Who knows, someday you might have one firearm or luxury watch worth 25k. Wouldn't it break your heart to lose it. I tell clients the best all-around vault for the money is this vault. Installing a vault of this weight may take the assistance of a licensed contractor. If you need help finding one, call us.
3) 1" Anti-Pry Steel Frame. This massive vault has a 1.5" thick frame. Its only available on the tank-head. Attempting to pry this door is futile. And remember, it doesn't matter how many bolts are in your door, it's the thickness of the frame that's important. With 18-bolts, the tank-head is our strongest lockup, designed to stop violent attacks. Fun fact: if you have 100 locking bolts in your vault with a thin frame, your vault can be pried open by a teenager. If you've ever seen videos online showing kids pry open gun safes, you'll notice it's the thin frame that bend, allowing the door to be breached. Our mega-thick 1" frame also helps with blast-resistance. If a thief drove a forklift at a Tank-Head vault, my money's on the tank-head all day! We can also add a 1" thick steel frame across the bottom of your vault. This will support your door during a violent forceable entry. NOTE: this door's standard threshold is a flat 1/2" steel plate.
4)Two Expand Gaskets. Adding a second expandable gasket could save your belongings in a fire. Most vault doors have one gasket with a flat surface frame that only seals on one point. When it comes to fire-ratings, two gaskets are better than one. In a fire, they swell to 8 x their size and seal your vault on five points. Because our Tank-Head is super thick, there's extra space to add a third or fourth gasket, making it even more hot-air resistant. We can also add Nuclear-Biological-Chemical seals or water-resistant seals. Having that extra thick door gives you all sorts of space to add specialty gaskets
5) Multiple Steel Construction. Our Tank-Head vault has four layers of steel (1/4", 1/4", 10 gauge and 16 gauge). More importantly, its filled with concrete with a 1/2" steel chest-plate in the center part of your vault. The chest-plate is important, because all your moving parts are welded to it. If your vault takes a blast, having the moving parts welded to a "floating steel plate" keeps this panic room handle from getting "crimped shut". And good luck drilling it! The 7" thick door is too massive and reinforced for drills and cutting devices to penetrate effectively. So hard to breach it's never been done. There's also 1" hard-plate in front of your lock and relocker. It's Rockwell rating is 60, which means it takes very long for normal drills to penetrate it. Since the vault has four layers of steel and a 1" hard-plate, that means a drill has to go through 2" of solid steel to reach your lock. WOW! Having multiple layers of steel and concrete also adds to a vault's ballistic level. We don't like to estimate how ballistic resistant vault doors are, but a vault with this much steel and concrete could stop a .308 round with eas
6) The Standard Lock is the Sargent and Greenleaf Group II Rotary Combo Lock. It's the most reliable spin-dial lock in our industry. You can upgrade your lock to a US Made LA Gard commercial Digital Lock. It's non-motor-driven, has two batteries and a lifetime warranty. This lock is our #1 selling option because it opens in one second. And when you shut the internal release, it will auto-lock your door like a real panic room door. Clients love digital locks, because spin-dial locks take too long to open. You can add an EMP kinetic energy digital lock that has no batteries. These are excellent if you fear an EMP attack. You can also add a Digital Dual lock that has an over-rider in case one of the locks malfunctions. Call our vault door salespeople and they will tell you about all our locks.
7) 4-Barrel Relockers - This special relocking device is next level. Where most vault doors have one relocker, this vault has four. If a crook punches out your lock, 4 - 1" w x 5" t barrel relockers shoot into your bolt-work, locking up your door. What's more extraordinary is the thickness of these relockers. They're so thick that even if a crook tries to drill them, he'll only put a hole in the middle of them and not defeat it. What's even more over-the-top is there's four! That means a thief would have to locate and drill out all four relockers to get in your vault. It's never happened and it probably never will.
8)18 Bolts. Each reinforced bolt is protected by a 1 "thick frame. That's one solid lockup. Other vaults have 10 bolts with a SUPER THIN FRAME. These frames are dangerously weak. Sportsman's 18-bolt system is solid, reliable and has never been compromised. If you choose to add more bolts, call us and we'll quote it. We build vault doors with 100 bolts.
9) Internal Release - "The Panic Room handle". All Tank-Head vaults come with an internal release handle. But not just any internal release. One that's spring-loaded. That means if you order a digital lock, when you shut the handle on the inside, the door will auto-lock on the outside, like a real panic handle. Other vaults have plastic "switches" that you have to remember to turn to lock your vault. Our internal release handle has springs - it's automatic! That means when you shut the door it automatically locks. That reliability is important when it comes to protecting your family in a burglary or civil unrest situation.
10) Installing your Tank-Head vault door. Because its heavier than most vault doors, it usually requires added attention or the help of a contractor. First off, you will need to build your vault opening 1/2" taller and wider than the vault you order from us. When your vault is delivered, move it in front of your opening, stand it up with six men (or a forklift) and move it into your opening. Put a level on your vault and make sure it's level. Then mark the 15 holes on the frame right onto your concrete. Drill (15) - 1/2" lag-bolt sleeves into your concrete where the marks are. Once those sleeves are drilled into your concrete, more your frame's holes over the lag-bolt sleeves and bolt your vault in place. After that, fire caulk the area between your vault's frame and concrete wall. This will seal your vault in case of a fire. Then add concrete at the top of your vault door. There's an opening about 6" wide. This installation could take as long as six hours. If you don't want to install your vault, a licensed contractor can. If you need help finding a local installer, call Sportsman Steel's customer service department and we can refer you to a local contractor.

12) Other Info. There are several special things worth mentioning about the Tank-head vault. Of course, it's extremely resistant to break-ins, bullets, torches, grinding machines and blasts. Its step construction is exceptional for fire ratings and it's twin seals keep your vault protected in a fire. You can add NBC or weatherproof seals. Twin seals helps your room will stay cooler, longer. If your vault has a heater, your seals keeps your vault warmer, longer, saving you a fortune in electricity. Your step door is also more water-resistant in a fire. When firemen douse your vault with water, your expanded gaskets keep out excessive water, which reduces water damage. Step doors are also fantastic if you choose to add Nuclear-Biological-Chemical seals to your vault. If you want a Nuke door, you'll have to order an air-filtration system and continuous welds on this vault and frame. As far as ballistic ratings, the Tank-Head ranks right up there with the best. With all that steel, there isn't a lot of rounds that can penetrate this bullet-resistant door. We can add 1/2" AR-500 ballistic steel or a third layer of 1/4" mild steel. Tell your salesmen what ballistic level you're trying to achieve, and we'll give you a quote. If you want your vault door to adsorb a double C-4 blast, we can add more steel for a nominal charge.
