I want to put half the good links on “Gun safes on sale

Gun safes on sale : If you are looking for the best gun safe on sale, good luck. It’s very hard to weave through all the clever misdirection on gun safe websites. Most gun safes on sale have nothing to do with the quality of the safe. They’re simple the cheapest safes gun safe companies sell. To truly find the best gun on sale, here are the six things to take into consideration:

1) Steel Thickness. Under no circumstances should you buy a gun safe with steel thinner than 10 gauge. If you buy a 14 gauge steel body gun safe, most can be cut through with a simple household cutting device or fire axe in minutes. You want your gun safe body to constructed of 10 gauge or 3/16″ steel. Bodies this thick can withstand 99% of attacks. Make sure your gun safe’s steel is bent or “Press-Broken Steel. If it’s welded, the welds can get ground off and peeled back.

2) Step Doors, Tight Seals. Almost every gun safe has a flat door with poor sealing points. Step doors are doors that fit into female step frames that seal the door on three or four points. They also have double expandable gaskets that seal your door during fire 3 to 4 times better than non-step doors.

3) Concrete Fireproofing. Most gun safes only have inexpensive drywall for fire resistant. Concrete is about 3 x more heat resistant than drywall. It also adds weight that will keep thefts from taking your safe from your house or garage.

4) Hardplate and Chest-Plate. Some gun safes have no hard plate. That means the steel that protects the lock isn’t hard. That means cutting devices or drills can cut through the door’s vital cut area fast. Also, having a thick chest plate in the mid part of your door, an extra layer of steel that covers most of your moving parts, really makes your door more secure against cutting devices. Only the best gun safes have 1/2″ chest plates in the door. Make sure you gun safe has a chest plate.

5) Thick Frame – This is the most important gun safe feature when it comes to stopping theft. There are many box store safes that have frames thinner that 1/8″ steel. Those safes can be pushed over and pried open quite easily. Get a frame 1/2″ to 3/4″ thick. This makes prying an near impossibility.

Good luck finding the best gun safe on sale. If you keep the above in mind, you’ll get a safe that should serve your needs for life. Call Sportsman Steel Safes if you have any questions.
