Wow. I just got off the internet looking for the best gun safe. It was amazing. The first two pages of searches was literally filled with box storage guns safes that are not even lose to the best gun safes. So what do you do when you’re looking for the best gun safe? That’s quite easy. You simply need to educated yourself and find a gun safe manufacturer that will build your gun safe to your specs. If you design a gun safe with the below options, you’ll truly have the best gun safe.

First, buy a large gun safe. Weapons that are small and not deep will damage your guns. When you put them in or pull them out, your weapons will bang against each other and get damage over the years. You’ll actually cause much damage to your weapons. Damage that will cost you twice was much as you safe by buying a cheap small gun safe. It’s like that say, go big or go home.

Second, buy American. Almost all box store gun safes have drywall for fireproofing, thin frames that can easily bend during burglary attacks and super thin steel. Features so substandard two kids can break into your gun safe in minutes. Just go to google and search “gun safe prying videos”. You won’t believe how easy gun safes are broken into. US Made safes tend to have thicker frames, better seals, more reliable US locks and fireproofing that’s more than low temp drywall.

Third, get a US made digital lock. All the best gun safes have higher end new digital locks. Ones much better than a spin dial lock that take 45 seconds to get into. If you dial the number off a number or two, you’ll be forced to re-do the combo which will take another 45 seconds to get into. Getting a fast opening US digital lock will get you in your gun safe in three seconds flat.

Fourth, your want thick steel. Get at least 3/16″ or 1/4″. Thicker steel makes cutting attacks a near impossibility. And make sure they’re heavy too. Having the best gun safe, a truly superior gun safes, means someone can’t pick  up you safe with a moving dolly and cart it out of your house. And for heaven’s sake, make sure it’s bolted down. If it isn’t, it doesn’t matter how great your safe is. Someone with a pallet jack can walk it out your front door.

Fifth, get a thick frame. Frames keep your door from being pried open. It’s that simple. The thicker the frame, the stronger the lock up system. Don’t get tricked by gun safes that have 50 bolts in the door. You can have 1000 bolts in the door, but that won’t matter if the frame in front of the bots is 1/8″ steel. When someone pries your gun safe, it’s the frame that bends, not the bolts.

Sixth, get real fireproofing like concrete. This material have double or triple the fire resisistance. Much better than the ceramic and drywall used on almost all gun safes.

If you tell your local gun safe manufacturer you want the above gun safe features, you’ll get a great gun safe, the best gun safe. If you buy a box store safe, you’ll get a safe that looks safe, but is actually not safe.

Good luck buying a gun safe. Call us if you need any help with your gun vault needs.
