The Retrofit Kits will assist you in upgrading your present gun safe, protecting your prized firearms from damage, and organizing your guns for convenient access. We offer a variety of alternatives to meet a variety of requirements. All of the kits include hardware for mounting on the inside of a safe. 4 drywall anchors, and four sheet rock screws, to be exact.
Kit 2 (Retrofit)
The Retrofit Package 2 is the smallest kit and is ideal for storing and organizing tactical weapons for quick access or deployment. Some of our customers will install a Retrofit Kit 2 for their MSRs in half of their safe and keep their lever actions or shotguns in the other half. The injection-molded olefin grid wall in the Retrofit Kit 2 is rated for the same weight as the steel panel but is substantially lighter. To install the Retrofit Kit 2, you’ll need at least 6 inches of clearance.
6th Retrofit Kit
If you require more rifle storage, the Refit Kit 6 can be used to completely retrofit a safe and hold up to six rifles or shotguns. The Retrofit Kit 6 employs the same grid as the Retrofit Kit 2, with a tongue-in-groove design that keeps the grids together on the wall. The Retrofit Kit 6 requires 17.5′′ of safe space, but it comes in three sections at just under 6′′ each, so you can break it up as needed.
If you don’t require using screws to secure the grid wall to your safe, the Retrofit Kits are the perfect choice because they can be attached with Velcro, double-sided tape, or construction adhesive.
6 mm steel
Take a glance at the Steel Retrofit kits if you have a lot of gear, mags, or need more storage space. The Steel 6 comes with everything you need to store six rifles and features two panels with plenty of room for accessories.
12 oz. steel
Our Steel 12 is the largest kit for the greatest upgrading in your current safe. It comes with two huge panels that each hold six rifles and enough space for Metal Storage Trays, Bins, or Pistol Pegs. The Steel 12 is 34.5′′ broad in total, but each panel is 17.25′′ broad by 36′′ tall, allowing you to install them in two sections or combine them.
The Steel kits come with hardware to attach them to the inside of your safe, and due to the panel weight and potential accessory storage weight, we recommend using the screws.
When looking for the best gun safes to match your needs, there are a few things to think about, and just like any other major purchase; you should do your research to ensure you make the best choice.
It may seem a abrupt powerful at first if you are starting your investigation, but your decision-making approach should be substantially less difficult once you understand the fundamentals.
Dimensions
A properly sized gun safe should be able to hold your whole weapon collection as well as weapon-related segments without becoming confused or unclear.
You’ll find an extensive variety of sizes to consider, and most weapon safes are tested with the maximum number of rifles they can hold, which can range from under ten to over 65.
