There are lots of different gun safe available to use in the market. Some are customizable with pick N pluck foam inside. Others are made specifically for your weapon. Hard cases, soft cases, what ever you feel would work best, its in your best interest to put your gun in a case, bag or safe to keep it in great condition and out of little hands.
If you are concerned about quick access to a hand gun in case of a burglary, look into purchasing a quick access biometric handgun safe. They open in just a second with your finger print or key code and will still keep your gun out of the hands of kids and keep it protected from the elements.
The last several years gun sales have gone through the roof. Tons of people are going to the range or field to practice. Conceal carry classes are popping up everywhere. Travelling with a gun leads to more responsibility. Keep it secure in transit and keep it from rolling around in your trunk or truck bed are not the best thing for your gun, a gun safe is best. I know some people that take so good care cleaning and polishing their gun, to just toss it in the back of the closet when done. Seriously!! First off, if your married, chances are there is no room in the closet to start with. Next with clothes, hangers, shoes and who knows what else going in and out of the closet the dust and dirt kicked up is just going to settle on and in your nicely cleaned gun. Not so if you put it in a case after use and cleaning. My personal favorite are the hard cases. They are waterproof, lockable and if you travel a lot, many are FAA approved for flying.
The decision to use a gun case is an easy one. Just look at what you have invested. Your family, your gun or guns themselves. Most gun cases are very affordable, and if you ever look to resell your gun, having it in pristine condition because you stored it in a case is imperative. So please look carefully at how you store you guns. Keep them safe, clean and secure. But most importantly keep your family and friends safe and secure also. I hope you will consider purchasing a case for storing your guns if you don’t have them cased already.
